- "Uhhh… My God… I must have the most boring job in the world… What I wouldn’t give to be out there with the other men. Fighting terrorists. Making the world safe. That would be so great… (weary sigh) Instead I’m stuck here on this fucking planet, overseeing delivery shipments. Christ, what a waste of time. Stupid idiots…"
- ―Michael Rademaker bemoaning his assignment of overseeing delivery shipments.[src]
Oberführer Michael Rademaker is a minor antagonist and enemy in Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus. Rademaker was an Überkommandant who was stationed on Venus and an assassination target of B.J. Blazkowicz.
Biography
Before 1961
During the war Rademaker became known for being responsible for the destruction of the Gondor bridge in 1946. In 1952 he along with Daniel Eckstein commanded the offensive that ended resistance to Nazi occupation in Tennessee.
Assassination
By July–August 1961 Rademaker, under the command of Irene Engel, had become one of the Übercommanders, the most influential senior officers in the American Territories.
Rademaker was sent to the Venus Transporthalle in order to oversee the delivery of construction materials for the mining operations at the base, staying in a sealed control room. Despite this, B.J. successfully assassinated him as part of the effort to eliminate the Nazi leadership in America.
In the Freedom Chronicles
Rademaker does not appear as a character in the Freedom Chronicles. In The Adventures of Gunslinger Joe it is noted that in 1959 he worked with Roderick Metze to organise a bombing campaign that flushed out the resistance in Springfield, allowing the capture of sixteen fighters, some of whom were taken to Research Station Omega.
Personality
Michael Rademaker enjoys fighting “terrorists” more than other assignments. He is clearly bored when he is tasked with overseeing delivery shipments of construction materials for mining operations, and does not like the assignment very much, and would much rather be fighting “undesirables” with his men than the assignment he was given, which he sees as a blatant demotion and a waste of time.
Trivia
- Rademaker is one of the few Übercommanders whose face is visible.
